This is my website where I store links and information about various useful and useless things.
At work, my current niche is information security architecture in the commercial sector. It's a pretty broad role that encompasses application, system and architecture/design review, code review and application testing (including penetration testing or so-called "ethical hacking"), network security auditing, incident response, forensic investigations, and information security program management. We do a lot!
At play, I am interested in the application, advocacy, and improvement of open source software. Luckily, this overlaps a great deal with my job, as so many top-tier security tools are open source, and open source platforms can be used to build enterprise grade systems and networks. The other hobbies that I have are geeky board games, including classics like Chess, and modern games like Settlers of Catan and Carcassone. I don't actually play video games very much, but when I do, I have a preference for roguelikes such as nethack (though I prefer others), and shoot-em-ups.
I currently live in Memphis, Tennessee.
I'm pretty easy to find on Facebook and LinkedIn (and Plaxo, but let's just forget about that one), there aren't too many Kevin Pondses in the world. If I won't recognize your name, please send me a message or email saying that you saw my website, so that I have some assurance that you aren't a friend-spammer.
